2003 Achievements

  • Gold Award: This prestigious recognition indicates a high standard of achievement in environmental initiatives.
  • London & Manchester Trophy: Awarded for Outstanding Contribution to Environmental Initiative specifically for small towns and villages, this trophy underscores the impact of efforts on local communities.



2004 - 2005 Achievements

  • Silver Gilt Awards: These awards are indicative of continued excellence in environmental efforts, following the Gold Award from the previous year.
  • Grant from B&Q (£2,500): This funding was utilized to enhance the area around the town’s open-air swimming pool, demonstrating a focus on improving public spaces.
  • Grant from the Liveability Fund (£2,040): This grant facilitated the purchase of tools, planters, and horticultural equipment, further supporting community beautification projects.

2006 Achievements

  • Gold Award:  Gold Award for HIB in this year, reaffirming its leadership in environmental initiatives.
  • Abbiss Cup: This award for the best municipal planting of a roundabout signifies exceptional landscaping efforts. The roundabout at Loggans being voted as the best in the South West highlights regional recognition.
  • Neighbourhood Award for Adopt-a-Plot Scheme: This award acknowledges community involvement and engagement in maintaining local green spaces.
  • First Prize in Schools’ Painting Competition: Victoria Emberson’s entry from Hayle Community School ( now Academy ) winning first prize showcases collaboration with local schools and promotes artistic expression among youth.

2007 Achievements

  • National Competition: HIB entered for the first time and was awarded a Silver-Gilt medal.
  • SWTA Competition: HIB achieved a Gold medal.
  • Community Recognition: Marjorie Roberts, the Chair, received the Shredded Wheat Community Champion prize.

2008 Achievements

  • South West in Bloom Presentations: HIB was awarded Gold in their category.
  • SWTA Cup: HIB won the prestigious SWTA Cup, with judges praising Hayle’s work and giving honorable mentions to their website and portfolio.

2009 Achievements

  • National Competition: HIB received another Silver-Gilt, finishing just 3 points shy of Gold and winning their section.
  • SWTA Competition: Once again, they topped the scoreboard with both a Gold medal and the SWTA Cup.
  • Neighbourhood Awards: Recognitions were given for:
    • Library Wildlife Garden
    • Adopt-a-plot scheme
    • Millpond

2010 Achievements

  • HIB continued its streak by achieving both a Gold medal and the SWTA Cup for the third consecutive year.
  • HIB also received a new Neighbourhood Award (Outstanding) for the King George V Memorial Walk.

 

2011

  • Gold Award: Won for the sixth consecutive year.
  • Neighbourhood Awards: HIB received six awards, including an ‘Outstanding’ award for the King George V Memorial Walk.



2012

  • Gold Award: Achieved for the seventh consecutive year.
  • Preece Cup: Won due to being the only group in our category to win Gold.
  • Neighbourhood Awards: Again received six awards, including an ‘Outstanding’ award for the King George V Memorial Walk.



2013

  • Gold Award: Secured once more.
  • West Country TV Cup: Awarded for most outstanding project related to the Sluice gate bed.
  • Michael McGahey Cup Nomination: Nominated for exceptional community effort on King George V Memorial Walk.
  • Bruford Cup Nomination: Nominated for Paradise Park for most outstanding horticultural display.
  • Amberol Trophy: Won for Best Business Floral Display.
  • Neighbourhood Awards:HIB received a total of 13 awards. 

Community Champion

Meet our Community Champion Sandie Morgan. Sandie is a true inspiration with all her hard work even through some physically painful days. Sandie's consistent dedication really shows through her efforts and educating others including her regular involvement with schools bringing areas of Hayle back to life. This year Chairman Nigel thanked Sandie for her 25 years of service to Hayle in Bloom with a special rose called 'The Generous Gardener' alongside a beautiful bunch of flowers.
